Neo-Natal Screening Programme

3 of every 1000 babies are born with a hearing loss. Early intervention means early diagnosis followed by timely counseling, training, fitting of hearing aids and perhaps surgical procedure. To enable hearing impaired babies to benefit from early intervention, the E.A.R. has started a neonatal screening programme at The Wadia hospital.

Newborn Hearing Screening

Automated hearing screening machines detect deafness at birth.

Early diagnosis and early intervention can prevent deafness from becoming a handicap.
